Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia Miller)
Lavender is grown as an ornamental plant in Mediterranean countries and Turkey (Istanbul). This species typically grows to about 100 cm in height, has a bushy appearance, silvery leaves, and dark purple flowers. It has a strong, distinctive fragrance and a slightly bitter taste.
Lavender oil is primarily extracted from the flowers of the lavender plant through steam distillation. Lavender flowers are highly fragrant and beautiful, which is why lavender essential oil is traditionally used in perfume making. The oil is also widely used in aromatherapy, and many aromatic blends and combinations are made using lavender oil.
Recommendations:
• You can enjoy this beloved aroma by adding a few drops of lavender oil to lotions, shampoos, and skincare products.
• For a spa-like relaxation experience, combine 1 cup of Epsom salt with 4 drops of lavender oil in a hot bath.
• Create a simple homemade massage blend using coconut oil, sugar, and lavender essential oil.
• Massage your shoulders, neck, and back with lavender oil.
• Drop a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow or add it to water and use it as a spray.
