Turkish delight is the creation of a confectioner named Bekir Efendi. Bekir Efendi came to Istanbul in 1776 from a small town in Kastamonu in the mountainous regions of Anatolia and opened his confectionery shop. According to another rumor, Turkish delight emerged as a result of a competition between palace cooks to win favor with the sultan. One of the cooks made a food with corn starch, sweetener and sugar and filled it with nuts and dried fruits. This is what we know today as Turkish Delight. Pistachio, 15% Almond, 15% Peanut, 15% Coconut, Cocoa, Pomegranate Juice, Celery Juice), Flavoring (Pomegranate, Orange), Food Coloring (Red Radish Extract, Curcumin (E 100)). The product is covered according to the type (Pistachio, Coconut, Powdered sugar, Kadayıf, Sesame).
